"Miért vagyok itt?" Ezen cím alapján most írhatnék a motivációimról, eddigi életutamról, amely ahhoz a ponthoz vezetett, hogy most kint vagyok Svédországban. De ez a bejegyzés most nem erről szól. Most az ittlétem technikai részleteiről akarok beszélni. Vagyis, hogy mi által vált lehetővé az, hogy Svédországban töltsem a 2016-os év további részét.

Jelenleg egy EVS projekt keretében vagyok Alvestában. Az EVS a European Voluntary Service, magyarul az Európai Önkéntes Szolgálat rövidítése. A program az Erasmus+ keretei között valósul meg, s lehetőséget nyújt minden érdeklődő, 17 és 30 év közötti személynek, hogy részt vegyen egy külföldi projektben. A projektek az egyes szervezetek profiljától függően igen változatosak: lehetsz vízi mentő Máltán, részt vehetsz egy színház életében Norvégiában vagy tarthatsz foglalkozásokat gyerekeknek Lengyelországban. A program állja a kiutazás költségeit (egy meghatározott kereten belül), a lakhatást, étkezést, s bizonyos mennyiségű zsebpénzt is kapsz minden hónapban, amelyből szórakozhatsz vagy utazhatsz. Ezekért cserébe heti 30-35 órát kell dolgozni a kiválasztott szervezetnél. (További részletes leírást és információt az EVS-ről itt talál, akit érdekel: http://www.fve.hu/evs.html. Szóval mi kell ahhoz, hogy elinduljon az EVS kaland? Egy küldő szervezet, egy fogadó szervezet, egy ütős önéletrajz és motivációs levél, nomeg kitartás. (És szerencse. Meg türelem. Helyzettől függően). Először választasz egy küldő szervezetet, utána nézegeted a projekteket, amelyekre keresnek embereket, küldözgeted a CV-det és reménykedsz a sikerben vagy legalább egy Skype interjúban. A konkrét sztori persze mindenkinél más. Itt az enyém.

Az én küldő szervezetem a Fiatalok a Vidékért Egyesület (röviden FiVe, online  http://www.fve.hu). 2015 augusztusában bukkantam rájuk Facebookon, testvérem ajánlása alapján. Egy svédországi projektet hirdettek éppen: Alvestába kerestek önkéntest a 2016-os évre, januártól decemberig, egy, az ottani vasútállomás második emeletén működő kiállító terembe a kiállítások promóciójára, dokumentálására, segítésére. Bár akkor még sok részletet nem ismertem az EVS-ről, jelentkeztem a projektre, s láss csodát… Nem kaptam meg. Nem meglepő, hiszen 150 ember jelentkezett Európa-szerte. Nem is gondoltam rá sokat, de az EVS-nek utána olvastam, elmentem tájékoztatóra, s eldöntöttem: nekem ez kell. Azt tudtam, hogy mindenképpen Svédországba szeretnék majd menni, s tudtam, körülbelül milyen projektek érdekelnek. Az egyetem mellett viszont a téma nem vetődött fel újra egészen 2016 márciusáig. Akkor hirdetett egy svéd szervezet (a Globala Kronoberg/Nätverket SIP) több projektet is. Megtetszett a szervezet profilja, s jelentkeztem is a felhívásokra (köztük a 2017-es alvestai projektre), ám újból nem kaptam választ. Mivel épp szakdolgozatot írtam s nyelvvizsgára készültem, így csak fél szemmel figyeltem a további lehetőségeket, kicsit félve ugyan, hogy lecsúszom valamiről. És aztán április végén jött a nagy lehetőség: egy másik önkéntes hazajön Alvesta-ból, helyére keresnek új embert. Gyorsan ugrottam apukám számítógépéhez, s küldtem az önéletrajzot majd a motivációs levelet. Utána egy hétig tűkön ülve vártam. Végre jött egy válasz: lesz Skype interjú. Teljes izgalomban vártam a napot, majd az azt követő csütörtökön végig csak erre tudtam gondolni (és reggel volt egy vizsgám - nem szerencsés kombináció). Este pedig jött a hír: engem választottak a projektre! 3 hét, s utazom Svédországba, arra a projektre amelyre legelőször jelentkeztem. (A vizsga is 5-ös lett végül amúgy).

A fogadó szervezetem a Globala Kronoberg, amely egy nagyobb „esernyőszervezet”-nek, a Nätverket SIP a része. A SIP több szervezetet tömörít, amelyek mind különböző profillal rendelkeznek, közös bennük, hogy céljuk a társadalom és közösség demokratikusabbá, hozzáférhetőbbé és befogadóbbá tétele. A Globala Kronoberg elsősorban a csereprogramok, és így az EVS lebonyolítását végzi. Ennél mélyebben belemenni a részletekbe bár érdekes lenne, ugyanakkor túl hosszú is, így ajánlom a szervezet honlapját olvasásra: http://www.sip.se/  (Google Fordító javasolt).

Én az Alvesta Utställninghall-ban, vagyis az alvestai vasútállomás második emeletén működő kiállítóteremben dolgozom. A kiállítóterem célja, hogy bemutassa a közösség életét, valamit a világ többi részét az átutazóknak, várakozóknak, érdeklődőknek. Ugyanitt található egy antikvárium, ha épp egy jó olvasmány kellene az útra valakinek. Az ötlet szerintem fenomenális; hogy az utazás üresjáratait, vonatra várakozás óráit hasznosan töltse az ember, új dolgokat megismerve. 

Így vált tehát lehetővé az én EVS kalandom Svédországban, az Erasmus+-on keresztül, a FiVE és a Globala Kronoberg koordinátorainak segítségével.

     "Why am I here?" Now I could write a lengthy post about my motivations, my path in life and the decisions I made that all lead to this point when/where I am in Sweden. But this post is not about that. Right now, I want to talk about the technical aspects of my stay. Namely, what made it possible for me to spend the rest of the year in Sweden.

     Right now I am participating in an EVS project in Alvesta. EVS is an acronym for "European Voluntary Service", a program within the framework of Erasmus+ which provides an opportunity for people between 17 and 30 to take part in an international project. The projects vary greatly depending on the profile of each organization: you can be a lifeguard in Malta, you can take part in the life of a theater in Norway or you can hold workshops for children in Poland. The program pays for the outbound travel, housing, food and you also recieve a certain amount of pocket money every month, which you can use to travel and have fun. In exchange you are expected to work 30-35 hours a week at the organization you have selected.

     So, what do you need to start the EVS adventure? A sending organization, a hosting organization, a cool resume and cover letter, and of course perseverance. (And luck. Also patience. Depending on the situation). First, you choose a sending organization, then you look at projects where they are looking for volunteers, you send your CV and hope that you succeed or that you get a Skype interview. How the story actually goes is, of course, different for everybody. Here is mine.

     My sending organization is the Fiatalok a Vidékért Egyesület (FiVE for short, http://www.fve.hu for online). I found them on Facebook in August 2015 through my sister's recommendation. They were announcing a Swedish project: they were looking for volunteers to Alvesta from January 2016 to December 2016 to work in the Exhibition Hall at the train station`s second floor. Although I did not know many details about EVS back then, I signed up for the project, and behold ... I didn`t get it. It was not suprising since around 150 people have applied from all over Europe. I did not give much thought to it afterwards, but I read more about the EVS and I decided: I want this. I knew that I definitely want to go to Sweden, and I knew about what kind of projects I am interested in. However, as I was still doing my university studies, the subject didn`t seriously cross my mind again until March 2016. That was when a Swedish organization (Globala Kronoberg / Nätverket SIP) started looking for vounteers for several projects. I liked the profile of the organization, and I applied for the appeals (including the Alvesta project in 2017), but again, I did not get any answer. As I was writing my dissertation and I was studying for my language exam, I only followed the new appeals wih one eye. And then, at the end of April, the great opportunity arrived: an other volunteer was coming home from Alvesta, and they were looking for a new person to follow through the project. Quickly I jumped to my dad's computer and sent my resume and cover letter. I waited eagerly for a week. Then finally an answer arrived: there will be a Skype interview. I was waiting for the day in full excitment, and the following Thursday this was the only thing I could think of (and in the morning I had an exam - not the best match). In the evening I recieved the answer: I was chosen for the project! In 3 weeks I'm going to travel to Sweden, and take part in the project which I have first applied to. (I got a 5 for the exam in the end by the way).

     My hosting organization is Globala Kronoberg, which is part of a larger "umbrella organization", the Nätverket SIP. The SIP brings together several organizations that all have different profiles, but they share the common goal of creating a more democratic, more accessible and more inclusive society and community. Globala Kronoberg is mainly responsible for exchange programs and therefore managing the EVS.      I work in the Alvesta Utställninghall, aka an exhibition hall which is situated on the second floor of Alvesta`s train station. The exhibition hall`s goal is to show the community's life and the rest of the world to those who are traveling through or waiting for their train to come (More info here: http://www.alvesta.se/se--gora/Utstallningshall/, Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/Alvesta-Utställningshall-289710797801322/). At the same place there is a second-hand bookshop, in case someone needs a good book to read for the travel. I think the idea is phenomenal; to give people the opportunity to spend the slow-running periods of their travel to learn something new.

     This is how and why I am on my EVS adventure in Sweden right now: through Erasmus+ and with the help of the coordinators of FiVE and Globala Kronoberg.
